This radio show was produced by the third and fifth grade classes at John C. Daniel School of International Communications in New Haven, CT, as part of the HOT Schools program. These students met with Teaching Artist Richard Hill for 90 minutes twice a week for five weeks, learning about the ways that the media shape the lives of young people in our society. The students and teachers brainstormed ideas with Richard Hill about being good stewards of their planet, and worked together to develop segments for their show. We hope you'll enjoy our first radio production featuring elementary school students.

Lincoln Middle School Student Council Radio Project -- Meriden, CT

This radio show was produced by six members of the Lincoln Middle School Student Council.  These students met for two hours once a week (January through March) with Teaching Artist Richard Hill to learn about how to communicate to their school community and to the world-at-large through the medium of radio.  In addition to learning about the role of media in our society, the students learned how to conduct interviews, surveyed their fellow students for their suggestions on how to improve their school, and brainstormed about the importance of creating a culture of kindness in their school community.
